Interview With Becky
Who will Dance Unlimited’s dance classes work for?
Any child who wants to have fun learning to dance will benefit from attending our classes. We specialise in working with all children aged 18 months to 18 years, whether they are new to dance or have danced in the past, bursting with confidence or a little shy.
What makes you different from other dance teachers and dance schools out there?
If you take a look at our ‘about Dance Unlimited’ page, you will see the reasons why I set up Dance Unlimited. We truly believe in teaching each child as an individual and understanding each child on a personal level. We take great pride in our work and our positive outlook and professional standards and want every child to LOVE coming to dance class and to have fun.
Will my child get coaching in all style of dance?
Yes and no! This depends on which classes you choose for your child. We offer age appropriate styles for children of all ages and progress classes accordingly. If you take a look at our ‘Getting Started’ page you can see the selection of classes we offer for various age groups.
My child has tried dance classes before and didn’t really enjoy them. Should she / he try again?
YES! Every dance school is different and maybe that class was just not the right one for your child. In fact, in a recent survey we did with our current parents, 9% had had a negative experience at another dance school, before joining us and experiencing our classes. Head over to our ‘Success Stories’ page to see what their experiences have been like and how their child benefited from our classes.
If I’m not sure if my child is ready for this, can I sample your classes at a low cost to see if it’s right for them?
Of course. We offer a free taster class in all our class subjects, followed by a further two week trial period, so you do not have to commit to our classes until you are sure they are right for your child (although we are sure they will LOVE them!)
Will I get to meet you face to face if I sign my child up to Dance Unlimited?
Yes. Whilst I do not teach all the classes myself, I do like to show my face among the dancers, parents and staff on a regular basis. All our dancers, parents and staff are very important to me – they are the reason I do what I do and I love to catch up with everyone and maintain the personal contact, even when I am not the class teacher.
My child doesn’t have any dance shoes or uniform – does this matter?
No. We encourage children to wear something comfortable for their first few classes and then if you decide to join us we can help you with the correct dance attire. We even stock it all in our studio shop for your convenience!
Does my child have to take part in strict exams and dance shows?
No. We do offer examinations with the IDTA but these are completely optional and are not our main focus at Dance Unlimited. We also produce a dance show every 18 months – one of the highlights of the dancing calendar. Although this is not compulsory, we strongly encourage all our students to partake if possible as it is such a great experience for all involved. Friendships grow, confidence blossoms and fun is had by all! I compare not taking part in a dance show a bit like a footballer doing football training but never playing in a football match!
I think my child would love your classes but I have some questions – can I contact you?
Of course. Please contact me at info@danceunlimitedsheffield.co.uk or call me on 07570 790 382 and I’ll be happy to answer your questions.
